Start with the smallest safe check. Your captures and settings stay on this Mac.
Each path begins with one focused check before you reset a permission or change a setting.
These steps preserve your captures and settings. Stop when Shotlane works normally again.
Run it once from the dashboard or menu bar. This separates a capture problem from a shortcut conflict.
Capture needs Screen Recording. Scrolling capture follows your manual scrolling and does not need Accessibility.
After changing a macOS privacy permission, reopen the app so the system can apply the new authorization.
If export fails, select the destination folder again in Export settings before changing the format or quality.
Open Shotlane → About → Support & Feedback, then review the copied report before sharing it.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow Shotlane to record the screen. Then quit and reopen Shotlane. macOS controls this permission, and Shotlane cannot bypass it.
No. Shotlane does not request macOS Accessibility. Start scrolling capture, scroll the selected area yourself, and choose Finish when you are done. Screen Recording is still required to read the captured pixels.
Try the same action from the Shotlane dashboard. If it works there, open Shortcuts settings and record another combination. The original shortcut may belong to macOS or another app.
A sandboxed macOS app can write only to folders you select. Open Export settings and choose the destination again if it moved, was renamed, or lost permission.
Keep the selected content stable while Shotlane scrolls. Pause video and page animation, keep the pointer away from dynamic controls, and select the smallest scrollable area that contains what you need.
Text recognition works best with sharp, upright text at a readable size and strong contrast. Recapture a tighter, higher-resolution region when possible. Apple Vision and the bundled PP-OCR engine both run locally.
Pinned screenshots are excluded from new captures by default. If one appears, check the pinned-window capture setting, then close and create the pin again.
No. Shotlane does not upload screenshots, recognized text, clipboard contents, file names, file paths, window titles, shortcuts, or runtime logs. Anything you post to GitHub Issues is separate and public.
Delete exported captures in Finder or use Shotlane's confirmed cleanup action. You can also clear diagnostic logs in the app and revoke permissions in System Settings. Shotlane has no account or cloud copy to delete.
Shotlane handles support requests through GitHub Issues. Posting an issue requires a GitHub account.
